About the Presidential Debates Project
The 2008 Presidential Debates Project is an exciting, new initiative brought to you by VoterWatch and managed by Billy Hallowell, a journalist and the director of content at VoterWatch. The project is intended to bring together traditional journalists, bloggers and prominent minds from the left and right in an innovative and informative manner. Using VoterWatch’s unique technology, these individuals will blog within video coverage of the three presidential debates and the one vice-presidential debate. For more information on what it means to blog within video, please visit VoterWatch’s web site.
Each commentator who participates in this project will use VoterWatch’s interactive media player to present his or her views and perspective. In the end, video of each debate, complete with synced editorial commentary, will be presented on the commentator’s web site or blog. VoterWatch will also air all of the content at www.bloggingthedebates.com, providing an intriguing record for the public to view following each debate.
The overarching goal of the 2008 Presidential Debates Project is to bring together numerous perspectives on American politics as well as non-partisan annotations in order to have the electorate not only more informed, but also more motivated to understand the realities behind what the candidates are saying.
In addition to hard-hitting commentary, the BloggingTheDebates.com web site will offer up-to-date information about topics surrounding the presidential debates. For more information on this project, please contact VoterWatch at info{at}voterwatch.org.
